I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: nothing makes an engagement session more special than choosing locations that truly represent your love story. And I’m so excited to share Edie and Daniel’s session today, because it is the perfect example of that! Their unique Fort Worth engagement session took us across three different locations, each reflecting the activities they love doing together. From hiking at Airfield Falls Park to a basketball shootout at Trinity Park Basketball Courts and ending with some friendly competition at Monticello Park Tennis Courts, their session was an absolute blast from beginning to end.
Why They Chose These Fort Worth Engagement Locations
Edie and Daniel’s relationship was built on a foundation of adventure, sports, and quality time spent together – especially outdoors. When planning their engagement session in Fort Worth, they knew they wanted locations that represented the things they love most. Hiking, basketball, and tennis have been an important part of their journey, especially in the early days of their relationship. So, instead of traditional engagement locations, they opted for something that felt 100% them—active, playful, and full of love. And I just love how each location and activity helped to bring out all the different sides of their personalities – and what makes their relationship so unique and special!
Edie + Daniel’s Love Story
Before meeting each other, Edie and Daniel were fiercely independent. But that all changed the moment they met. “As soon as we met, it felt like we had known each other forever and were instantly co-dependent!” Edie had told me laughing.
They first met at a dinner party in August 2022 at a brewery. Daniel’s sister, Jennifer, happened to work at the same clinic as Edie, and when Jennifer invited Daniel along, fate stepped in.
Daniel often jokes that they “met over shots of tequila”! Because, technically, they did, ha! During this dinner party, there were a couple extra shots being passed around from those who didn’t want them. Daniel volunteered to take one of them and asked who wanted to do the other with him… I’ll give you two guesses who stepped up!
From that moment on, they were inseparable, doing everything together—even throwing a joint bachelor and bachelorette party because they didn’t want to celebrate without each other. How cute is that!
Although they had plenty of unofficial dates, their first official one was at Andretti Indoor Karting. “Big mistake. I quickly learned how competitive she was and how much of a sore loser I am,” Daniel joked. By the end of the night, Edie had enough arcade points to win him a Pickle Rick plushie as a consolation prize—something they still have to this day.
Favorite Date Memory
For Edie, her favorite date was their second anniversary, when they had a full “day of dates.” It was packed with everything they love—playing tennis, a mystery picnic, a long walk, returning to Andretti for more arcade fun, and ending with a movie night. “A high love language for both of us is quality time, so it was amazing spending all day with the love of my life doing stuff we enjoy together,” she said.
For Daniel, his favorite was the day of their first kiss. “We had a movie marathon after work and made a massive list of movies we wanted to see together. It was simple but full of laughter, popcorn, and just enjoying each other’s company.”
Their Proposal
This was one of the more thoughtful proposals I’ve heard of. One that truly showed just how well he knew her – staying one step ahead of her the whole time! I was incredibly impressed by this one. So, it only feels right to let Daniel share the story in his own words.
Daniel’s Proposal Story
“Hehe I really need to pat myself on the back for this one. Important note: Edie is terrible with surprises. She likes to know everything!
I proposed to her September 5, 2024. Earlier in the year my family had planned a large trip to the Northeast in early September and asked if we’d like to join. The obvious answer was yes. However, their trip was going to be Tuesday – Tuesday. We didn’t like that. So we had the great idea, why not take a pre-trip to a place we love and meet them all there on Tuesday. We decided to go to San Diego, one of our favorite places (also the place where Edie told me she loved me).
Quick backstory: Edie had to move to San Diego for a few months for school. She had been living there for about a month before I got to fly over there to see her. Because I had never been (and because Edie is a massive planner) she made me this very cute itinerary that told us, BY THE MINUTE, what we were going to be doing.
Leading up to the trip Edie basically knew I was going to propose to her but the biggest secret was when. I threw her off by making assumptions that I would propose during our trip in San Diego. In actuality, I proposed two days prior.
I made her a pamphlet with an itinerary of what we’d be doing during our trip (flashback to my backstory). Edie had been a nervous wreck during the week leading up to our trip trying to figure out what she was going to wear and on what day. Knowing she would need the itinerary to figure out all of that information I planned to give it to her a few days before. In the itinerary, I put a note in there saying she wouldn’t be getting engaged on the day she suspected, because she was being proposed to right now. When she put the itinerary down she found me on one knee asking her to marry me. Needless to say, she was surprised.”
A Unique Fort Worth Engagement Session
Edie and Daniel are truly inseparable. From working out and traveling to watching sports, playing tennis, and hiking, they love doing everything together. “We are obsessed with each other” is what they told me during our first meeting. And I just thought, what a dream to be so equally obsessed with your partner. They are so adorable together!
When I asked them what they admire most about one another, their answers were equally heartfelt:
- Edie about Daniel: “His selflessness. He values the well-being of everyone around him without giving himself a second thought. He is truly amazing and makes sure that everyone around him is taken care of. He’s honest, hardworking and very thoughtful. He’s truly my best friend.”
- Daniel about Edie: “Her strength. Yes she is muscle mommy, but she has strength in adversity, passion and kindness. She is also hilarious and affectionate. She never stops surprising me.”
I had an absolute blast capturing these images for them. And am counting down the days until their Stoney Ridge Villa wedding! But, until then, please enjoy their incredibly fun and unique fort worth engagement session!

Edie and Daniel’s Fort Worth engagement images so perfectly encapsulated their love for adventure, sports, and most importantly, each other. Their energy, laughter, and deep connection were such a joy to capture!
